Generally the P's flow a wee bit better, smaller chambers, header fitment issues. (On the header fitment I really can't comment. I've never actually installed a set on a car despite having so many of them run through my shop.

I like my P's, with my BBK unequal shorties I didn't have much of a problem making them work. I made a nice power gain from using these heads.

The P's flow slightly better, and have a smaller combustion chamber. The P's also have a different spark plug location, which makes them more emission friendly. The explorer's with p's were ULEV (Ultra Low Emisssion Vehicle). Because of those heads in 98 Ford almost brought back the 5.0 to the mustang. The only downfall with the P heads is you have to use special header (Mac has a set), but some people have say they have used regular headers. This book has info on the gt40 and gt40 p heads and intakes.

i have heard from some that has said have to use diff headers and some say dont . well i have a old header gasket and it lined up perfect . but hmmm why u have to have diff headers hope like hell no one says cuz of spark plug angle or anything lol . i have bbk equal lengths also . i know all bolt holes lined up but jus thought bout damn spark plugs hope thats not gonna be a issue cuz while my tranny was out i was gonna swap my heads prob .

I have a set of p heads on one of my mustangs.... I read on the forums some headers dont work, so i was like ill see myself if what they say is true

i came to this conclusion : stock manifolds WILL NOT fit. Thats just not happenin. So i bought some BBK longtube headers and they fit no problem. Im gonna see if the mac longtubes will fit in a week or so... ill let you guys know.
