They really aren't worth a lot. People always want a ton, it seems to be the sentimental value. People love their cars and think they are worth much more than they really are.

yeah, you rarely get what you put into a fox back... the only ones that fetch a high price are all original cars, like an all orgininal '82 T-top GT that is mint...or the '93 cobras..

most people do a double take when I said I paid 3 grand for my car... one guy asked me if I paid 6K for it...

Rust on the rear axle! Oh nose! Your kidding right? Do you know what a rear axle is made of? Do you know what happens to cast iron? It gets surface rust. My buddies garage only '03 Mach with 37,000 miles has surface rust on the axle. It means no harm.

Undershot of a brand new 2010 Mustang w/Magnaflow exhaust. Notice rust on axle.

Surface rust on the swap bar end links means absolutely nothing also.

Bud, Ford painted the rear axle on the Fox! ...that rear axle in the pic along with the sway bar is real rusty for a car with 36k miles!

...Ford must have stopped painting them at some point...my '05's is not painted...

Look at the Mach ^^^ ...everything looks great except the axle tubes!

Not on the 4 eye's. I've also removed an 8.8" of an aero car and it was unpainted, so...... The sway bar is also unpainted and they typically rust right away. It is just surface rust and has absolutely no effect on the ability of the part to do its job. You could use the proper cleaner to completely remove the surface rust in minutes. My car has 60k original miles and has been garage kept ever since it was purchased new by my grandfather and it has had rust on all mentioned parts.

When you are looking for rust you look at things like the floor plan.

Also the photo above is of a one month old 2010 Mustang GT w/track pack not a Mach 1. The only part that is not rusted is the Diff Cover, which is painted.

well, I guess my '91 GT was one of a kind then! ...bottom line, $9500 WAY too much for that car! ...I guess I should also be questioning why a car with 36k needs to be re-painted in the first place! ....look at all the pics, engine a mess for that kind of $$$...

You are definitely right, that car is not worth what he wants for it. The engine looks pretty normal to me though.
