Windsor Jr. heads

Windsor Jr. heads
I have an 86 gt that is completely stock. What do you gurs think of windsor jr. heads. Im thinking of doing an e303 cam, windsor jr. heads, bbk ssi intake, 70mm, 21 lb fuel, bbk cold air intake and underdrive pulleys. Do you think this would be a good set up and how much horse will i get out of it? Thanks.

Well personally I like the Windsor jr heads but they arn't that great right out of the box. If you are shopping for new heads you can do better with just a few dollars more. It's an out dated head that was decent 10 years ago. They do respond well to a good porting but unless you are getting a stone cold deal on a set I'd look elsewhere.
As far as the E-303 cam goes it's like a drunk in a bar. It makes a little noise when it exhales but when it comes time to fight it's a wuss. You can do much better in the XE line from Comp or a Custom grind.
On the intake, well the Jury is still out on that thing. It looks trick, suppose to make power but I'd move into a proven intake that matches the rpm range you intend to shoot for.
The problem you are going to have for the biggest part is PTV clearance on your 86. If the engine is correct to the car you will have a set of Flat Top pistons with no valve releifs. Before I tried to work around those things I'd either do a rebuild of your engine with some good pistons or buy a used 87-92 engine to work with.
If you go with underdrive pullies make sure your cooling and charging system are in good shape before you do or youre heading into problems.
I hated to rain on your parade but I'm not one to blow sunshine up your butt.
