i bought a set of mac long tubes w/ h pipe used for $150 the other day. they are chromed but have surface rust, to much to clean up. what have you guys used for diy header coatings? i am gonna bead blast them so i will be starting with bare metal. so i want something i can do at home that will hold up decent, also looks.

I used gas grill paint. I did it 2 years ago and it still looks good. The trick is to put the paint on, then bake them dry in your oven or use a bottle torch(that is what I did)

cool idea i would have to use the torch to big for an oven lol. did ya do a few coats andlet them air dry first? then torch em

use some jet black spray and increase your power, it helps by insulating the exhaust from the engine bay significantly reducing engine temps
