Default Price to get rear end rebuilt?

Right now my trac lok is worn out because im only spinning one wheel, I also want to get some 3 73's. I figured out that a new lsd 28 splne ford one is about 200 a bearing kit 100 gears 150 and speedo gear 10 so id be around 500 bucks for parts. How much would it cost me for a shop to put that in? Also what speedo gear do i get for a 90 lx 5.0 with 3 73 gears? I looked at the ford chart but it only goes up to 3 55 for 90?

save yourself a little money, you dont need the new trac-loc...just buy the rebuild clutch packs and replace them..think its 50 for the stock type..and like 100 or there about for the carbon fiber clutchs.

when i had my rear end built i paid $300 for labor and oil. the labor done was, new axle shafts, 31 spline limited slip, all new bearings and 3.73 gears, and the a new speedo gear. all the parts i bought myself and took to the installer

When I do a rear like such , it is often done with gears and cost comes in around 250 to 300, but in your area it'll depend on labor rates

Ya rates are high up here in canada like 80-100 bucks an hour. What would be cheaper to get the mechanic to do buy a new trac lok or a rebuild kit? Wont the rebuild kit just make the labour go up?

yeah but it shouldn't take more than 20-30 min to install all clutches and make sure preload is adequate.

yeah, up here in tahoe the cheapest estimate was 900-1000, so i figure do it myself, and if i fuq it up four times it still wont be that much. so i did it myself.

For that kind of money I would have put you in a nice set of axles and took your family out for supper, lol
