The reason the 347's got a bad rep was they had the rings down into the wrist pin area and were known to be oil burners.

If im not mistaken theyve since corrected this.

That was the determining factor me and why i built a 331 over a 347.

a well built 347 isn't ideal for a stock block when you think about it... I guess I just misunderstood what you were trying to say... I thought you were saying run a smaller stroke because of the forced induction...

In theory the whole wrist pin rumor makes since... but as thousands of experieced ford guys will say the 347 burns no more oil than a 331...

I'm just not crazy over Vortech superchargers, It's a rare thing to see one that can lay down some impressive ET. I've seen some that can lay down 400hp on the dyno that couldn't get out of the 13's with a tailwind. For forced induction I'd rather use a Turbo

its all in the setup... some ysi cars run 9.0x's all day where im from... I prefer a turbo myself but to say it's a rare thing for them to lay down a good et is well wrong. And you are absolutely right about the dyno queen situation... thats the case 60% of the time, I agree...

built right they don't burn oil!!! I have a friend with over a 100k on his 347 D/D and does not burn a drop of oil, nor does mine, it's all in the builders touch.
