Question Some inputs on Carbs

i been reading about efi switch to carb and all and i was intrigued by it. anyways i was wondering if swtiching to carb was worth it on a daily driver. winter and cold weather is no problem the lowest it gets here in florida is about 40-50 degrees. i know carb is cheaper in the long run but i just wanted some inputs.

If it's your daily driver, I'd just keep it EFI personally. I'd now start saving for a blower for your new ride. BTW, it looks sick!

I do too, as all 3 of mine were carb, but for overall drivibility and no tuning hassel on a stock mustang I'd take efi

go carb!!i live in fl and my dd is a carbed 88 gt. carbs are much easier to tune and much cheaper! power comes cheaper and easier switching to carb as well. only thing is that if you later want to turbo you have to go blowthru but people are getting verygood power with that now too. personally i prefer carb over efi any day the only downside is that a carb is made to run wide open where a efi setup you have continuous power anywhere you put the peddle. honestly i get better gas mileage with a carb than i did with efi too. four barrel carbs actually get good gas mileage if you dont put your foot in them at every light. the chambers are smaller than a 2 barrel and until you set your foot in it and open all four than you actually get better MPG than a 2 barrel.

I'm a Hardcore Carb guy but thats because I have been tuning the same basic carb (Holley 4150, 4160) for 40+ years and I'm Old school and I know them better than anything else. BUT If you have fuel injection already and it's working fine it's a lot better for a daily driver. The one thing I like about all my Fuel Injection vehicle is it's just start and go. Carbs are finiky and despite what some may tell you you will never get the kind of fuel mileage out of a carbed car no matter how good it's tuned as you will out of the same car with a Fuel Injection system in good working order. I may be old school but I do know where the advantages are in each set-up. A well set up carb system is anything but cheap.

IMHO, it's not worth the money and work needed to convert to a carb on a daily driver.
