Do all 5.0s come with trac locs or just some? Can you get a Junkyard axle with 3.73s or do you need to have some regear it for you and put the trac loc in if it doesn't have one?

i agree with portmaster on how to build the car, This is how ive been doing it, and it has really worked out well (havnt broken anything yet! "knock on wood")
Start with the rear, then trans, then upgrade suspension, and tires... after this go for the fuels system and ignition system.
After these categories are all taken care of you can work on the engine and throw as much power as you want at the car with no worries! (as long as you didnt skimp on anything)
