Lol, reminds me of the time I asked a guy if he would take 5000 for a 69 camaro he was asking 11000 for. He said, "Don't make me get my shotgun out bud"

THESE ARENT SPECIAL CARS!!! They arent rare, they arent collectable, they arent unique, they have very mild performance, ford made more of the fox body mustangs than many many many automobile lines about 3,600,000 of them in all! All generally the same! No real variance in options besides body style. Id be damned if I were to pay much more than blue book value on a mustang. Aftermarket parts usuially detract from the price in my book not add to it like a majority of people believe.

I bought my car for $1600 with 46,000 original miles 1 owner. Case and point.
sucker ...ehh?I never said they were rare or collectible. Despite what you and your KBB book say the cars worth, the market sets the price. You got a helluva deal getting a one owner car with 46,000 miles for 1600 bucks, but most of us will never be that lucky. I didn't say don't haggle with the guy,by all means try and get the car for the cheapest price you can!I was just saying around here a sub-3,000 dollar notch with good paint, clean interior,in good mechanical shape,v8,5 speed etc. ain't happening. For around the 2-3000 dollar range you can get a v8 notch but it will be someone's hacked up weekend racer that needs tons of work whether it be paint, body, mechanical, interior, etc. To the OP check out the completed listings on Ebay and look at how many 5.0s sold in the 2-3,000 dollar range;and for the ones that did look at the condition of them..

There are three reasons these cars sell for so much.

A. People are uninformed and dont know the value of their dollar.
B. People are overly hopeful in selecting a selling price and expect people to pay every penny
C. Typical mustang buyers are very very fickle and as soon as they find a car that is anywhere near what they desire they lock target until they get what they want. (probably a generational issue there; when these cars were younger, not by much either, they were selling for much less. Now that this newest generation has come of car buying age the hopeful prices have skyrocketed)

I have to agree that the market sets the price. I paid 5000 for mine-with only 71,000 miles on the clock, in perfect stock, untouched condition only mod was a new flowmaster cat back. However, 7 years ago I bought a clean 95 GT Vert for 3,500. Now I must have looked at and driven at least 40 foxes before buying mine-some were asking 2500, some were asking 7500+. I bought the most mustang for the money. For whatever reason, the market is driving up the actual sale prices of these cars. Knowing what they are selling for in my region, I wouldn't sell it for less than 6500.

sorry only took a quick look at before posting this topic the first time. I have knoq took a longer look and got the listing out of the paper now and it has a lot more then I listed before. It has 19lb fuel injectors, high flow fuel pump, eldelbrock upper and lower intake, 8.8 read end with 3:73 gears and lok limited slip, street and strip rear control springs with new firmer springs, bbk shorty headers (full length extension with matching short h pipe), flowmaster 2-1/2" cat backs with tailpipes, A-J-K tubluar k-member, and auto meter tach, fuel pressure, and vacum boast. about 130000 miles asking $5300.....good price???
