it's hard to tell what you have going where cause the wire colors your listing , I'm having to guess which are the box and which are the dizzy that you have,
on the box there is a 2 prong connector, the red goes to switched 12 v, I didn't even use the white, AND yes I know it's to be wired to ignition to a resistance wire, but not necessary, mine works fine as well have others I've done, anyway the 4 prong connector on the box there is green, orange , purple and black, GREEN goes to neg side of coil, switched 12v to pos side of coil ........ now on reman dizzys the color coding has changed a little........., but there should still be a black wire on dizzy and on box.....= black to black now what are the other two colors left over on yout box and on your dizzy??

my 66 had that color coding on the dizzy but I SOLD IT RECENTly so I can't remember which one went where but if I had to guess....black with red went to purple and black/pink to orange, but don't quote me, and if swapping didn't work, then if you used the wrong coil as I said it may have shorted out the box, are all these new parts your working with??
