500 hp and be reliable, I'd start with a good foundation, and that is an aftermarket block, ie...dart or boss 302 then throw the boost to it with a well chosen h.c.i

Yes i agree..... deep pockets is a must.... But i would start off with suspenion first. you wont hit 500hp right off the bat without at least 8000 dollars. a good platform car can haddle alot. its always best to get you car the way you want to handle before you go fast...

Yeah it take a lot more than and engine to support a 500hp engine. Its better to have a 500 hp drivetrain hooked to a 300hp engine that to have a 500hp engine hooked to a 300hp drivetrain. I can also tell you from vast experiance that building a car from the ground up so it can handle 500+ hp is expensive. My drivetrain can handle 1000+hp. I won't be breaking it anytime soon with the current engine.lol

Whoops!! Guess I should've built my suspension up then. Not to say I have 500 horsepower or even close to it, but I do have a stock suspension(except lower 2 inches). But then again, it all depends on how you drive the car too.

Maybe thats why you have an 11 second car, stuck in a 12 second time zone lol

i vote for the 300hp nitro shot!!!

no really you need to do a good couple weeks of reading and planning of what you want. then get a good complete list of what u like and we can help you out from there.

a good plan of action, is to look through magazines and find a car you really like, and model your project after it! use someone elses hard work and planning

Only read like half the thread, but I think you have a lot of research to do if you want a nice reliable car.
