Changing power windows to manual?
#11
Yes, im taking the door panels and the manual window assembly out of my present 1987 mustangs doors and putting them in other foxbody doors that are in better condition and removing the power window door panels and assembly from the new door. I just wanted to know if i could do that...?

I just took the manual window assemblys out of my crap doors and put them into doors that were formerly power locks, windows, mirror. There were three rivets that i had to drill out and then pulled the whole gear and arm type thing that makes the window go up and down out through the bigger hole about in the middle of the door. (this is after removing all the wiring and such from the power system). then just put the manual window assembly in the same way you took out the power window stuff, slide the plastic piece into the part that attaches it to the window, and then put in three bolts in place of the rivets. Then put the manual window door panels on and your good to go.

good info
thanks that good info now i just need to track down a donor door. i am not in a huge hurry but as you know replacing all the power stuff when it goes bad is expensive and personally i do not care if i have to crank the windows especially knowing they are much less likely to have problems.
