I am sure he has sub frame connectors, but I would never do a targa top on a Mustang, beside it looking dumb, I don't like the idea of removing a structural part of the car, without re-inforcing it with at least a 6 point bar.

i remember a thread in OT about a guy who did a 700hp 347 TT autocross car and greated all his own fiberglass body parts on a '98gt anyone remember what im talking about? i'll search around but im pretty sure the only body part that was steel in the end was his roof.

Its ok, fellas, I pretty much got my answer. I figured as much, but figured it possible to keep the side beams for support and replace the center section with a lighter material. Its more the lower center of gravity than the wieght reduction.,I want to track my car occasionally, but still drive it.. drag isnt my goal. So I figured as much as I can lower the center of gravity and weight, the better.

the thin sheet metal of the roof isnt going to affect your weight or center of gravity significantly enough to justify replacement
