buy the best car you can for 3K... regardless of if its a fox or an sn95

personally i have a 1982 gt and i love it. but i also have a 88 notch that i am making my race car. 1979 to 85 mustangs are carborated and 86 they started the firtst 5.0 fuel injectiong with out mass air. 87 was the first year of the 5.0 fuel injection with mass air till 93 if that help.

in 1988 California models had MAF, 89 the rest caught up

He would do well in choosing whatever model he likes the best for whatever his reasons may be. I chose mine because I think it looks tough in a short and stocky kind of way. Mine is silver that looks wet when it's dry so the accompanying polished ponies and tailpipes against jet black tires, and an ever so slight raked stance set off an agressive yet understated look I've always loved. I always felt the SN-95's looked a little too Probe-like in that they appear taller, narrower and longer than they actually are. As long as he decides on a style, the rest can be built around his particular tastes and wants. Appearances are subjective, whatever he chooses it'll still be a Mustang...
