Default Crown vic shortblock

Well my car has recently rolled over 170k and i have the chance to get a shortblock out of a crown vic with 50k on it. Is there any difference then what i have in their now?

yes , firing order is most likely non h.o, pistons are casr and dished most likely and heads may be e6 style.

would gt40ps still fit on there, i was thinking about putting forged pistons in there

I thought about rebuilding mine but its my dd and i figured if i could get the other one ready it would maybe cut back on the down time.

thats what i did. i got a block, rebuilt etc, put my cam in heads and all. it is nice to have the spare

Rebuild that one with better pistons and a different/correct cam, and heads. The timing chain cover is probably different too as those cars are serpentine, yet the water pump turns the same way as the crank.

What pistons and cam would you guys suggest. I have gt40p heads, explorer intake, 70mmtb. I would like to run boost in the future
