That sounds like a good deal but just have a qusstion.I know FMS makes the 3.73 but what brand of gears are the 3.90's?I know someone who bought 4.10 Motive gears and they roared real bad .Of course any of them can do that but usually FMS gears are pretty good.

all 5.0 Mustangs should have had trac-loc from the factory. if you still have the ID tag on the diff cover, it'll indicate trac-loc in the gear code....for example, 3L55 meant 3.55 gear with trac-loc diff. the door VIN tag also tells you....M, Z, R, E and W axle codes are codes for the trac-locs with 2.73, 3.08, 3.45, 3.27 and 3.73 gears, respectively.

I looked at the door tag and under "ax" it has an "M", i tried to look under the car at the diff cover but it's too low and i don't have a jack, any idea what gear ratio the "M" stands for? I thought i had read somewhere that the 5.0's came out with a 3.08 stock? (could be wrong though)

sadly, most 5-speed cars and many AOD cars came with 2.73s

One of my friends had an 89 GT with an AOD....it had factory 3.27s for some reason.
