Default oil pressure issue

Ok so i can start my car and have no issues with oil pressure its up nice and stays steady and increases with acceleration, until after i've drove around for a little while and come to a stop light and the oil pressure will drop down to nothing then bounce back up then drop down and bounce up but will be fine when i am driving.. I think its a main baring what do you guys think?

If you are judging it by the stock gauge in the car, I wouldn't trust it. They're notoriously unreliable.

Youll be able to tell if you have no oil pressure. The engine will sound very clakety. I had this douchebag try to sell me an '82 GT not to long ago that had no oil pressure, he tried telling me it has a solid cam in it. Fail.

At any rate, first things first, check the wire thats going to the sending unit. Look at the tip of the sending unit itself, is it corroded? Grab some scotch brite and clean it up. Get some pliers and squeeze the end of the boot on the wire so it takes a little effort to get it on there.
I have never had a sending unit fail on any of my 5.0L's, its not a common issue. THey might start to leak but they still usually work.

ok guys im gonna try that.. but if the sender was bad wouldnt it be going crazy all the time?? this just does it after i drive it and come to a light then it will go down to zeero and bounce back up. no i dont hear clakety sounds coming from it sounds normal.. also last night i reved it in my drive way and the oil pressure dropped alittle which doesnt make sense its prolly something stupid .. cause the motor still pulls real strong

That just happened to my car. Oil pressure is fine, but once it got warmed up a little bit the oil pressure would fall off at idle. Pulled the sending unit and hooked up an analog gauge, showed the same ****.

It ended up being a ****ed up bottom end. Good luck
