yea, and it doesnt matter... both sides are exactly the same material.

I ran 9333 PT-1's without any problems... Even with the "front" facing down

as addermk2 states the gaskets in order to be installed per instructions "front", one will be facing up and the otherside will face down in reference to front labeling on 9333pt1 gaskets, either way it doesn't matter as long as front is installed at front

Thank you for the clarification.

By the way, how's your build coming? Get the engine all back together?
(in reference to adder and/or mjr considering you were both doing mods.)

Well, the car is completely stripped again and down to the bare block.

LESSON LEARNED: Never make Assumptions!
THE VERDICT: Warped passenger side head by .005

Only thing I could find wrong with the build. Getting both heads plained down and checked for cracks and getting the block/heads bathed. Crank didn't get damaged thankfully but I'm gonna replace the main/cam bearings...again... What a mess! Milkshake Everywhere!

O well, live and learn.

It happens. That's why you always want to check for flatness on heads/decks and intake mating surfaces etc. The rule of thumb for heads is .001" per cylinder, so a max allowable of .004". But on modern performance engines depending on cylinder pressure and gaskets, .004 may still be too much, I sure wouldn't put a head on with .004 warpage. The thing with building an engine, is the devil is in the details. The little stuff like checking for straightness is usually the stuff that gets you.

As for gaskets, I'm running the Fel Pro 1011-2, the one with the copper fire ring. Never had any issues with it.
