Default Help me buy suspension parts!

So far ive decided on Maximum Motorsport lower control arms, BBK upper control arms, and 10way adjustable Strange shock's and struts on all four corners.

im looking at these springs for the rear
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rsview=sku&Ns=

but they are progressive, so im thinking that when i launch the car hard at the track, that they will give alot at first, then get stiff, then spring the rear end back up, pushing the front end down, and losing traction to the rear right after hooking.

I think im going to leave the front stock spring's alone, as the front end already jump's up in the air quick, and it will save me a few buck's.

but i cant seem to find a "cheap" rear spring, that is going to be good for racing (drag, and autoX) and also be good on the street.

if you have any suggestion's please let me know, would like to buy ASAP

Dave at Team Z told me to leave stock GT springs in the rear.. if that helps any. I'd give him a cal and see what he tells you. Great guy to deal with, really knows his stuff. Designed the suspension for new Ford Cobra Jet factory race cars, or so I have been told and read over the interwebz.

You won't find it because it does not exist. An auto x spring and a drag are on opposite ends of the spectrum. You might just want to leave the stockers in there.

get adjustable upper control arms. you wont regret it.

just wait on the springs until you can buy a set of either drag springs or stock replacement. seems you're more into drag than autoX and if you get an autoX type spring you'll have a hell of a time with aggressive launches at the track. see if you can find 4 cylinder springs for cheap for your fronts.

302army, you need to read the article that I read last night that will help you with your suspension a little bit.

http://www.baselinesuspensions.com/i...A_Drag_Car.htm

Just because the front of the car comes up alot doesn't mean it is the best. But you are thinking about the car losing traction when the front drops. It mentions that in there. Happy reading!

thank's for the link!

i think you guy's are right, ill hold off on the spring's for now, and just go with the adjustable shocks/struts so i can "dial" the car in, and the control arm's are a must.

i dont really see adjustable being worth the money for my car. Hell, i barley understand how they would help.

having the ability to adjust your pinion angle will allow you to adjust how well you hook.

meh.... that's a little much for my car i think.

btw, i might have just changed my mind again, lol.

A guy local to me run's 11.80's@113mph, with a 1.61 60' on UPR upper and lower control arms..... that would save me $100 over what i have picked out......

here's his thread on our forum if you wanna check out his car.
http://www.coloradostangs.com/forums...ad.php?t=14915

remember, he's running 11.80 in the 1/4 at a DA of around 7000, 5880ft above sea level
