Default doesn't seem right...

I got a bbk h-pipe and 2-1/2 in and out flows in today...i ran a search on what muuffler size to go with and all said 2-1/2 in/out all the way back, but when i dry fitted the inlet to the h it butts in leaving a gap...so should i have them welded or could i get by with getting a pipe cut to fit them together, or do i need to go with smaller muffler?

my bbk h had to be massaged to meet perfectly with my bbk longtubes. it also had to be wiggled quite a bit to line up with the old cat backs.
give it a shot before you cut anything

If you have stock pipes i believe they are 2 1/4 if you got a cat back i know my cat back and bbk xpipe didnt totally right and i had to have the joints cut off and a pipe welded in. Wasn't what i planned but it doesnt leak at all now lol.
