Best Wheels for 1980 Mustang
Hi. New to this. Just picked up a 1980 mustang cobra with a 302, it's 5 speed. Nice shape.. I like it. Wanted to change the rims to 17" but am not sure of a good rim and tire size. Like 17x8 on the front, 17x10 on the back, 17x9 all around.. whatever.... 255 tires...?? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

17x9s all around are popular 245/front 275/back

^^^ Good suggestion but I'd go with 17x8 with 245/45/17 all the way around, that way you can rotate them.

Congrats on the 4-eye. Make sure you dont go any larger that 17's though. I personally think 17's can even be too big on a fox sometimes. Pics?

yup, ford changed them a bit to clear the pony rims... but I dont remember if it was the fender itself that changed or the fender extensions...

i think the front fender opening was widened, i think other than that the rear wheel wells are the same...
Im partial to the 245 and 275 on 9 inches, but youll get a few rubs (and grinds) but its worth it =P
