what kind of block is this ?????

Default what kind of block is this ?????

I just got a new motor for my notch. I want to find out what cam I can run. The only markings on the block are in the lifter valley and it says FoMoCo yes I know that's for ford motor company and it says 302, but I dont know what type of block it is I want to run this cam in it and wanted to know if would work it has a flat tappet cam in it now will any flat work thanks here's the link

post a pic but sounds like a late 60's/ early 70's block..look where the starter would be

Regardless of what year the block is. you can run a flat tappet cam, EVEN if its a roller block. but you cant do it the other way around unless you use conversion parts.

I know that.....but it's not a roller block with the fomoco stamping there in the valley
