Default Need help with my rearend!

i cannot get the pinion shaft out of the case i removed the pinion shaft lock bolt and the pinion shaft will not budge? any tips this thing is driving me crazey!! help mike

Take a block of wood on the end of the pinion and hit it w/ a hammer and drive it out.

Yeah, it's just being held in there by some friction. Tap it out.

Default No Luck!

I have been beating that pin for 20min with no movement at all? could anything else be done to get it apart, i am not using the traction lok or the gears in there so if there is another way to get it out i am all ears. thanks guys mike

Taking out that pinion shaft is the only way to get c clip access and therefore the only way to take your rear apart. Use a 3/8" ratchet extension and pound that bitch out of there.

Default yeah

thats what the haynes manual said i was hopeing there was a way around it, thats exactly what i have been using a 3/8" extension it dances around a little bit when you hit it, moves in and out about a 1/16" but thats it i would bring it to a shop but at this point it is all taken apart on jackstands....

i have even tried pb blaster to help but it did nothing

haha the kick in the *** is my trucks power steering just went out! not havin a good day that what i get for getting a dodge
