I find the balljoints will sqeek, stick and break right off the car long before they shake.

Start with the tires and keep in mind, an out of round tire or a tire with a flat spot can still be balanced 0 / 0.

Bad ball joint in my stang caused extreme vibration through the steering wheel at 65+ back when my car was stock.

If the shake/vib smoothes out during cornering...does that point to the ball joints?

jack the car up, so both wheels are off the ground, perform a suspension inspection with a pry bar and flash light.
