Default Running alcohol to pass the sniffer?

I'm picking up an 85 gt, but in WA you have to pass emissions. so the car needs cats (at least temporarily).

anyway, i was talking to a friend and he claims that if you can buy some type of alcohol from a house paint store that you can run your car on, while going through emissions and pass without cats.

I'm calling BS on this, but idk for sure.
anyone heard of this? and/or done it? i'd love to hear about it

running alcohol you might run clean enough to pass the sniffer, but if they look under the car, they will see the missing cats.

and when did WA make you get a emmissions test, or do you live in Seattle or something like that.

again, same thought process. looking under the car would be a dead give away.
i wish it wasn't required! but i live in vancouver which is in clark county. its one of like the six counties in wash that require it

true race alcohol burns clean and could pass the sniffer, however , it'd be hard to mask the smell of it burning

There was a thread similar to this last year. If I remember right it talked about using acetone. And yes you can pass the sniffer without cats...but it is all in how you have the car setup. Someone on here had a carbed setup and passed it just barely.
