Default Redneck Converter Issues

I just finished a T5-C4 swap in my LX and I think I am having torque converter issues.

-When I tried to launch, it only footbrakes to about 1700 rpms before the tires spin. Could this be weak brakes? Because the car sometimes likes to roll when I warm the tires up with the line-lock.

-If I leave at idle, it still only flashes to maybe 2000-2300 and really doesnt leave very hard, it just rolls into the launch about like a stock converter would.

-I heard that one way to check the stall speed was to put the car in high gear while going about 5-10 mph and floor it. If I do this, it flashes to the proper 3000 rpms.

All rpm measurements are with the stock tach. Here is a list of the parts I used:

-Redneck Performance Torque Converter (3000 stall)
-TCI Reverse Manual Valvebody
-157 tooth SFI flexplate
-TCI Outlaw shifter

And I am running 27in ET Streets and 4.10 gears. Can anyone help me out? Could it be weak brakes or does the converter need re-stalled? Would a lower gear help? Thanks

I think that it maybe a good idea to at least get the converter stall checked.
Find a place with a converter dyno and get it done there.........

True stall speed is hard to measure. Everything depends on how much tq a particular engine is making. Also gearing, weight, cam etc. all come into play.
