Thumbs down gas mileage with bolt-ons

right, i got my 93 a week ago and bam! im pretty bored and i want some low cost bolt-ons you know the starters.

its a stock 93 gt notch 5 speed

e303 cam
trick flow intake
underdrive pulleys
3.73 gears

i am not sure if i want to gets heads for it, i feel it would free up lots of horsepower because more flow but i dont want to sacrifice much gas mileage because it will be daily driver and prices just shot back up.

Your problem is THAT cam or any high performance cam usually has a degrading affect on HP. In my auto stang, I was averaging 17mpg city with Trickflow heads, Cobra Intake and boltons(stock mpg was 15). After a TFS-1 cam and PI 2700 stall, the gas mileage dropped to 14mpg city. Performance highflow aluminum heads is a great modification. The stock heads flow poorly.

ive been pretty happy with my setup when it come to gas mileage..i have the trickflow intake heads and cam stage 1 with supporting bolt-ons and average about 23-25mpg highway and up to 17 city...depends on your driving style cause at times im 90% sure i can see the gas gauge move when im playing
