foxbody in the snow
Well, my foxbody is my daily driver out here by chicago . that means snow time too What are the best ways to adapt the 5.0 for snow? They usually keeps streets cleaned or dusted but i don't want to get stuck on a bad road unprepared. I was thinking sandbags in the hatch to weigh down the back, an of coarse all season or snow tires too. any other ideas?

I have 245 series all season Kuhmo tires... crappy 66 dollar tires, no extra weight in the trunk... just dont drive like an a$$ and it will be fine. Ive managed rather well in blizzards and ice storms... take turns slow and dont punch it...
hell I think Hackgt350 handled a new england winter with summer tires...

+1 definitely get real snow tires, and get them as narrow as you can. I drove my car with 245/45-17 Dunlop winter sport M2s and it did pretty good but 225s would have been better for the deeper stuff.

my fox in the snow was the reason i went out and picked up a beater truck...(now ive brought three beater trucks and they east as much money as the stang...)
Then again, in my parts the weather is too unpredictable and you end up with ice on the roads beneath the snow...

if you are going to drive it in the winter, go for a good set of snow tires. Ice radial with sipes (or whatever they are called)
You could also go for a slightly narrower tire, 225 / 215, better for cutting through the snow. Carry a little weight in the back, some sand can do double duty if you have some problems .

Definitely snow tires.
Bridgestone Blizzaks or something similiar, but a studless ice and snow tire will outperform any studded or chained tire. You put them on all 4 wheels, 205-225 wide, and you should be able to get around pretty well unless the snow gets too deep, and a little weight in the trunk always helps.
