my cousin just bought a 95 mustang gt coupe five speed . bone stock it ran 16.15. he hasnt raced in 12 years so there is a much needed driver mod. its still bone stock and he has 3 grand to spend on it. its only a "toy" car where its not driven everyday but mostly on nice days and trips to the track. what should he start out getting, as i dont know much about 5.0s

his goal with the car is 13.2s to 12.8s

Gears , exhaust, Heads, cam and intake and teach him to drive oh and have him get a set of sticky tires for the track

I'll make it easy for your cousin. Tell him to give the car a complete tuneup(clean the MAF, new fuel filter, new plugs & wires, etc. An untuned 5.0 will run like crap and judging by your cousin's disgraceful times, a tuneup may be in order). Next tell him to get a used Vortech or Paxton. Here's a good place to get them:http://forums.corral.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=273. Get an AFM powerpipe, 3.73 gears, shorty headers, and the proper fuel mods and he'll be good to go. Plus it'll save him a headache or two by not installing an H/C/I kit.
