Default Project: Anti-Stereotypical

Like my other post state, I am an Asian guy trying to be different. I hate being classified as the guy who cant live with a 4banger Honda with a fart can. I have gone through so many "project cars" lately that I think I am going to try and finish this one up nice. However not having a job and trying to pass some hard FAA test is a stumbling block especially when I hate to sit down and read a book for weeks.

Now to the Mustang.

Year: 87
Trim: GT
Miles: Supposedly under 100K with a different ODO

The engine needs a new timing cover (on the way) to be running. I heard the car run when I first looked at it but since then the clutch fan blew out. The car is fairly clean on the inside but most of the attention will be on the exterior.

This will be a long build, but with this being my first V8 I am looking forward to driving it and working on it.

Update with new intake. Its a test fitment for now. I am going to have to wait until I have the longtubes on before I tighten it all down.

If you look where the water pump would be you will notice that the top portion of the timing cover has been broken off.

Good to see that even Asians like more cars than their Hondas . What are your plans for the car? Love the light blue.

Ive never owned a Honda believe it or not.

I want to get the exterior done since the engine runs fine right now and once I start working I am thinking about a saving for a 392. I LOVE clean mustangs with a good sized engine.

Alright just ordered a BBK CAI with the SD "conversion". Also my new timing cover came in so all I need now is someone with an Impact so I can get the Crank pulley off.

Im also thinking about throwing the Trickflow Stg1 Cam in while I am at it. I cant decide if I should keep it or sell it.

a stage 1 cam isn't really going to give you much of any performance gain since you've still got stock heads on it. I'd recommend keeping the cam, then finishing the interior/ext and when your ready for hp increase get a gt40 heads/intake and throw in that cam, and you'd prolly see a nice 60-70 hp difference.

Its will be a while till I can afford a set of gt40's or anything else. I have often thought about buyin a larger engine, transmission, and rear end once I get my career started.

Thanks for the heads up.
