Motorcraft remanufactured direct Ford OEM replacements. I need to decide between these two motors that are within by budget.

1990 GT 225hp stock 300 tq E7 heads OEM internal with forged piston (or so I was told)

1993 Cobra motor 235 hp rated 310 tq GT40 heads OEM Hyper pistons

Both are the same $1700.

Here is the rub-the 1990 will carry a 3yr 100k warranty as it is being installed in a 90 vehicle

The Cobra will have no warranty (at least according to the dealership I spoke with)

Is the Cobra worth giving up the warranty-I only drive 1000 miles a year so it really is a 3 yr warranty for me
