Default some 5.0 questions

uncharted territory!

anyway, Im looking at a full size ford this weekend with a 5.0. Its an 87, but it has the non-HO engine in it. after googling, I cant find much info on that engine, as most articles talk about the HO rather then the base. anyway, turning to you guys!

- I know the 87 HO was rated at 225/300(iirc), but what was the base rated at? Ive found everything from 150 to 190, but nothing exact.

- the car needs an EGR valve. with these, what problems are ran into with just deleting it? if i need it, will any 5.0's egr valve work on it?

-lastly, these arent MAF cars. i believe they are most similar to speed density. if iw anted to swap in a HO from a 95 GT, i know the speed density ecu is needed. but what else would have to change on the engine to convert it? would the non-HO parts for those areas work?

....I don't believe they are multi-port EFI (old CFI set-up with 2-42# injectors)...Just drive & enjoy!
