Default BBK Longtubes, who's got 'em?

I'm looking at buying some BBK 1 5/8 primary longtubes with ceramic coating, then wrapping them in thermal tape.

Also planning on a BBk 2.5" H w/ cats for it.

I'm going to be removing the EGR and changing the steering shaft to a MM one.

What problems will I be running into? Gonna have to jack the motor? Dimple?

I was looking at these just the other day. I found install instructions on summit's site that take the guess work out of in from the top or bottom, pull the starter or don't and all that. There are a couple sets on sale in the 5.0 classifieds on this site as well.

Hey Tony. I have a set on my car. They fit well. I did not have to dimple them as with other headers. I did have to remove the steering shaft and lift one side, don't remember which now since it's been about 5 years ago. Definitely get the ceramic coating. It is not recommended to use header wrap but I have been tempted to do so due the heat generated by the headers. The ceramic coating really does a good job at keeping the rust in check.

Iv got them on my 94, i agree, the ceramic coating is definitely worth it otherwise ur headers will be all nasty real quick. I didn't have to remove the starter or the steering shaft i just unbolted the motor from the mounts and raised it as much as i could to gain clearance, wasn't a walk in the park tho.

I thought that the point of going ceramic was to not have to use the header wrap in order to keep 'em rust free, no?
