Default new to mustangs and have questions...

Im new to mustangs so ive got a sum questions....my wifes 87 gt vert has a 2-3" grommet on the firewall which im assuming is the a/c drain but it has antifreeze coming out of it....is it safe to say that the heater core is leaking inside the box? Also whats the electric connector on the fill cap of the overflow tank for the radiator?

Got a pic? I'm guessing you are referring to either the CCRM or the low coolant sensor.

^^ low coolant sensor inside the bottle

And if you have coolant coming out of the fire wall a/c drain then yup , its time for a heater core.

Im fairly sure the entire dash has to come out to get to the heater core.

Taking the dash out is the normal procedure; I've done it twice....

There's nothing difficult, but it takes me all day to get it done. I've always followed a shop manual to do it; it shows you where the various bolts and screws are located, which helps, and gives you an order to pull it all apart in.

You will have to be careful if you encounter any plastic tabs that hold the interior pieces in place. The aged plastic likes to break pretty easily without a lot of force
