as long as the body is clean, buy it. its getting harder to find rust free or nearly rust free foxes. mechanical stuff is easy stuff to take care of where body work takes a bit of skill and experience.

UPDATE! just bought a nice 1990 5.0HO LX notchback, relatively new silver paint, b&m short shifter, dual flowmasters, and some cone air filter. No rust!! and the torque boxes were fine, i checked like you guys said. great condition, 171,000 miles, a little high but based on you guys expertise and opinions, i still feel safe with that. its vry close to stock so all in all i love it! feels good! 5spd, grey cloth interior but he put grey leather front seats in and they match power everything, ice cold ac, and cobra rims with bfg's cd player.....only $3,300. thanks for all your help guys!! i hope this one isnt some kind of lemon or dud!! haha

IMO you should just do a tune up now just so you knows its been done(cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, oil change, oil filter, transmission oil changed). i know you just dropped 3300 bucks on it...but a 150 bucks to freshen her up and run some codes just to make sure she's tip top and piece of mind.
