power loss at 4k

well do your simple tune up and stuff before you are concerned about valve float.

-do the tune up(filters, fluids, cap, rotor, plugs, yadda yadda yadda)
-run koeo, koer (obd1 code scanner) for potential issues. (if you dont own one, buy one. they sell them at autozone for like 15-30 dollars and it comes with the scanner, book, everything. you will most deff use this more than once, trust me )
-clean your MAF with CRC MAF cleaner. dont use break clean. not the same thing.
-check fuel pressure with a fuel pressuer gauge.


if all that checks out, then i would put my money on valve float. is it dangerous? it can be, you could have your piston contact your valve and have all sorts of trouble. so until you get this figured out, i advise not to beat on your car too much.
