so you want to waste money in the mean time until you get a blower and spend more money to get a cam that works better for a blower and spend more money for springs to match your blower cam? doesnt make sense to me. keep your stock cam then.

Well. I'm getting a set of e7's for $80 from a local forum member. They have a 3 angle valve job and are intake port matched.

I'm just leaving my short block in place and throwing on those e7's.

I just ordered a ford racing gasket set, arp head bolts, trickflow lifters, and comp cams pushrod/rocker kit.

Hopefully the car regains its lost power... hopefully there isn't too much piston blow by, if any.

What, instead of head bolts? Or am I missing something?

just buy the twisted wedge heads, and put a comp xe276hr with 1.7rrs in. Get a track heat intake, and it'll SCREAM now, and hold on tight when you supercharge. That cam will be just fine with boost, and in my opinion i wouldn't worry about pulling those heads and having them worked unless you plan on a dart block. Boost will cover up whatever minor headflow issues you'll have with that setup.. And you'll be maxed out on the Stock block.

The aftermarket block is not coming until later. The block that I was going to use was a refreshed 302...

After weighing my options... it's going to cost me at least 1000 + TF TW heads to put this motor back together properly... so it's going to wait a little bit longer. As of now I'm rebuilding my motor for less than 500. Do you think I WANT e7's? No

That goes with the head studs as well... no point when the block or heads are getting junked next summer.

I never said I wanted to stroke or even supercharge on a stock block... too many assumptions get thrown around.

You should still make decent power IF you chose to use your ported E7's w/a blower. I beleive JD is making just under 400rwhp w ported E7's and a Vortech. As for a cam, the stock cam is great for a blower. It will retain the 5.0's excellent low rpm torque. Theirs a member on here who made 454rwhp/450rwtrq, by using Trickflow TW heads, stock cam, and a ported Cobra intake with a Vortech V1@10psi. With my car I am running the TW heads, Tricflow Stg-1 cam and a box-stock GT-40 intake with a Vortech. It makes great torque and pulls like a freight. The Stg-1 cam is a great all around cam. It sounds good and has a great powerband. Also, you will not need to run studs. Just make sure you use good ARP head bolts when you throw the E7's on. They have worked great for me and I am pushing out 15psi with 0 head lift. I hope this helps.
