opinions on an engine
#21
Jive cam, decent heads, too big for the engine if anything, unless it's going to rev to 10 grand, and a small engine. Unless it's a pure race engine, which I doubt, running 13:1 compression, it will never see 11's N/A, or unless it wants to rev to 10 grand as I said. Takes a lot of power to push over 3000lbs to touch 11's. Assuming the car weighs roughly 3200lbs + yourself, if it's a street car, you'd need roughly 400 ponies at the wheels to even touch 11's
do more reading plenty of foxes doing 11's on mild mild builds. a.k.a. a buddy i know runs a coupe at 2950lbs gt40 tube intake, old school TW heads, comp cam xe 270hr14 .512 lift and runs 11.9's and on the 100shot runs 11.2's. he's all suspensioned out on drag radials. yes...its fast and only dyno'd ~285 n/a and three somethin on the bottle. this thing will break your neck it launches so hard.

its a green ssp coupe.
his suspension is 275 somethin by something MT ET streets(i dont know the size but they are 10th annv. wheels) adj. upper and lower c arms, ful length SFC's, tube k member, stock a arms, eibach drag launch springs, air bag in the rear. maybe some other stuff i dont know about. but this thing pulled like 1.5x 60's i think i last heard. probably faster than that on spray cause he sprays off the line.

Yes it was. A 95 GT. Now of course the car had some trick stuff, like a Liberty Pro shifted trans, a 4.30 gear and there was decent money in the rotating assembly. HOWEVER my point is that if that can be with all the rules that were in place at the time for that class, it can easily be done when you have no rules about what cam, heads, weight etc. that you can run.
