Default Good deal? Need some opinions.

Ok, I know a lot of forums dont like posts like these but Im looking for some insight. Ive always wanted a foxbody and have been looking around for one to play with for a while and came across this one on craigslist.
Basic plans for car:
I would like to stroll around in it for a year, fix the basic things thats broken, and try to flip and sell it for more than I bought it for. I need something to drive so I can tear into my camaro and figure a mustang would be fun for a while.

Heres the ad,

1993 Mustang originally a 4 cyclinder. now has a 89 5.0 302. car is a 5 speed transmission grinds in 2nd gear. no power stearing. has electric fan. moon roof. small cam. aluminium drive shaft. i drive the car almost daily 60 to 70 miles. car is by no means a show car but is a good starter for a project car. and i am asking 2000 obo.

Id like to talk him down to 1500. He said the paint has a couple of spots of clear peeling but I think maaco could fix that pretty cheap. Interior is good, doesnt leak any fluids and all the gauges work with the swap.

You guys think this is a good deal, so so, or stay away. Thanks for any replies.

im not liking the belt setup and im sure they just removed the p/s pump and running the stock rack which is a pain in the *** to steer.

Thanks for the replies. Only reason this car stuck out to me was that most foxbodies run around 4000 bucks in descent shape here. Hell, there's a couple parts cars people want over 1000 for. Im hoping in a year the economy will pick back up but who knows, I know Obama doesnt.

So I guess Ill need an accessory bracket to get power steering back. Im sure a local junk yard will have it.

My main concern would be how bad the paint is when I see it and how bad second gear actually is. What is it with second gear in T5 transmissions, my buddy has a 96 that grinds in second to.

I did find another car on craigslist though, a 95 convertible that needs a transmission and AC compressor for $500 but they wont reply to my email. Probably a scam of some sort.

you can flip that car. i use to flip foxes for a little while. depending on what you do to the car you can. you may not make much but there is some money to make in that car. well at least around here

you could always sell the camaro and put the money into the fox. itll be faster and hendle better than that LT1 could ever dream of with the money you'll make. plus you can bang your own gears, stalled automatics are for people who cant drive lol.
