He put three tunes on mine to get to the dyno. One was what he thought it should be, one is 5% more fuel and the other is 5% less.

It could probably be leaned or fattened more if it was needed. I am not a tuner so, I really can't answer that.

The chip only ran 200 bucks with the tunes. Pretty fair I thought.

Very fair. Mine cost 500 new for my truck. I am loving this whole car thing more and more when I see these prices more and more. I saw a set of crower connecting rods for 700 bucks I think. thats cheap to me!!!! 3200 is the usual cost for a powerstroke

why go with a chip when you can get a tuner and can change the tune when you need to or change it when you change something. So you don't have to keep having a chip burnt. A lot of the systems allow you to store a few tunes so you can move from tune to tune but the tuner will also allow you to adj things if need be

Usually when you have a chip most tuners will re program that chip for free for the life of the chip where as getting it tuned means paying each time.

the whole idea of it is for the buyer of the tuner to start to use the system and make his own adjustments. You say that most guys will re burn the chip for free well that's good but if you was to make a big change to something you would need to have it re tuned anyway.. so by having a tuner that you can change you could go from the tune you have and get yourself a wide band and start moving from there no need to take it back and have a tune redone unless you want to. But I know some people don't feel comfortable doing this but then again it would aways be nice to do it yourself. To each his I know.. LOL
