spitting codes 15 and 67

89 gt is spitting codes 15 failure in eca (keep alive memory) and 67 improper signals from nds??? car shuts off when coming to idle from high rpms. plugs are now pure white when they used to be light tan changed maf , clean'd iac, replaced vaccum lines, replaced fuel filter increased fuel pressure still nothing any ideas????

you will get a 15 if your car has a chip

I don't know what a nds is. Some knid of sensor I imagine. Did you have the car in neutral when you pulled the codes?

jhysock 08-20-2009 10:35 AM

the car has a hypertech computer in it and the nds is a neutral drive switch i can't pull any codes while the car is running i have to fix whatever problem exists before i can check that??? getting frustrated already

TrimDrip 08-20-2009 10:43 AM

the car is still suppose to be in neutral even in the KOEO. That will probable do away with the 67 code.

The computer is a hypertech computer or it has a hypertech chip. I don't think hypertech made computers. If it is a chip, pull it, clear the codes and see what happens.

Joel5.0 08-20-2009 10:52 AM

Code 67 will not allow a KOER to run. Try running a KOER self test while you keep the clutch pedal down through the whole test..... if it works, the NGS (Neutral Gear Switch) on the transmission is either disconnected or at fault. Code 15 is due to the presence of the Hyperjunk chip.

jhysock 08-20-2009 09:41 PM

the hypertech tech told me the same thing that the chip is not meant for a car with mods. i didn't try to dump the codes with it in neutral i'm gonna take the chip off and try again i'll post my results

jhysock 08-21-2009 08:32 AM

chips out code 15 is gone / ran koer with car in neutral and still no codes can i bypass the nds/ngs and try again or must it be repaired/replaced also car is now shutting off more when coming off higher rpms to idle can this be caused by nds? or is it something else? damn this newer tech

TrimDrip 08-21-2009 08:49 AM

Did you try the holding clutch thing?

jhysock 08-21-2009 11:00 AM

its an auto gonna try a new computer

jhysock 08-21-2009 08:21 PM

i'm about to hangup :icon_playing: i put the new comput in and still spittn 67 gonna bypass the nds hopefully and go from there anyone with any ideas please post why is this car runnin a lil lean and stallin at idle i need to pound / enjoy this car more b4 winter

TrimDrip 08-22-2009 02:00 AM

My car had white plugs with a new fuel filter and pump with no codes at all. Some cars just run lean by design to cut down on emissions.

Although, whatever is causing it to die may be causing it to run lean

TrimDrip 08-22-2009 02:06 AM

double post

can u start the car in neutral?

is it a factory AOD car?

did u unplug the battery for atleast 20 minutes before re-testing?

You are guessing at a solution to solve the problem, rather than using the data the system is providing you. Code 67 = ECM detects transmission is not in neutral, reason why a KOER is not allowed to be ran.

Since your setup uses an automatic transmission, pin 30 of the ECM detects "in-neutral" state through the ground provided by the starter solenoid to frame contact, through the single post start voltage wire, through the transmission NSS switch, to the ECM connector. Do you have a separate push-button starter switch installed?... if not, you may have an open wire condition between the start wire at the solenoid and pin 30 at the ECM connector.
