Default Fox body coupe question

I see a lot of 4 cyl conversions for sale these days, most are at pretty cheap prices. What I want to know is,is buying one of these cars a bad investment?

why would it be if it is what you want it is not like they are worth a pile of $$$ yet. 20 years from now well who knows. you could use it to your advantage and say it is not worth as much and offer a lower price

All cars are a bad investment. A run of the mill Fox won't ever be worth much. Buy a car because you like, have with it, but ever think of it as an investment. If done properly a 4 cyl conversion is just as nice as a factory V8 car.

My thing is I consider the car to be an investment b/c,they have went from just a couple of grand in the past few years to well over $5000-8000 right now. They seem to gain value to me all the time.I just dont want to feel like I am getting ripped off by buying a certain car.

Then buy my supercharged 1993 Notch. $12k and it is yours. 90% original paint never been hit. 400 rwhp.

Get what you like and desire, and hold on to it. I'm on year six of owning mine, and it was rock freakin' stock. Not the most rare or desirable Mustang, but it's my first Fox, but definitely not my last.

like its been said, look for one you like and run with it.

just be wary of hackjobs and half assed conversions

well if you find a conversion car done right... get it

but i would hold out til you found a factory 5.0 car... just my opinion

i'm on my 3rd notch , and am a big fan and also agree w/ you about the value, i too have watched it skyrocket

i bought my first notch for $3800 in about 1996, it was an '89 w/ 62k on it and not a spot of rust (a year later i sold my '90 GT for $3k w/ 100k on it for a comparo)

it be more than double for it now to find the same car

i got my '88 cali notch for something like $3k and it had 127k on it, and obviously rustfree

got my '93 in 2005 for $5800 w/ some surface spots and cracking paint 108k on it but it had some ok mods so i was ok w/ the price

it would be hard to find even that car now w/ out driving some serious distance
