garbage series.
like i said, dont waste your time on flowmasters.
when i was in high school, i thought flowmasters were soooo great.
well when i found out the real technical info on them, needless to say i no longer thought the same thing.

borla, magnaflow, maby even dynomax.

Youtube will be your friend here. Go on their type "5.0 magnaflow exhaust" then do all the major makers mac, borla, slp... Then make up your mind from their. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...tems&year=1987 this is a site that I use to "ballpark" prices, it shows most of the aftermarket catbacks for mustangs.

Edit and here is another thing for exhuast loudness/preformance.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/597849/6. Its from 2002 but I doubt muffler design has changed all that much.

Actually, sound clips are not that accurate. the camera used, the speaker used, the distance away from the car, too many things that change the way you hear it.

I think it still gives you an idea of what to expect. But I agree you wont know what it sounds like until you buy it. Plus wouldent a 331 like yours would sound different than a stock 302 with the same mufflers.

A friend has a stock bottem end 302, the same heads and a cam from the same person. He has longtubes from a different company, a dr. gas or mac midpipe, its a box that weighs a ton and some chambered mufflers, i believe those are macs also.

His car is almost as loud, its got a more muffled sound, like is got a chambered muffler. If he put the same exhaust on as I, it would probably sound exactly the same if i had to guess.

I had just installed flowmaster and it greatly improved the sound of my mustang.. definitely thumbs up.. but when i run around the neigborhood, the sound of my ride just ticks them off a bit..
