I have a bunch of questions about my transmission situation, but first a couple of basics pls:

first of all, what is in this car? I believe it to be the infamous "AOD"

My next question is about a tailshaft bushing. There is some play at the tranny-side driveshaft yoke(if that's what it's called up front) going on. I understand this part can wear and cause vibration, but after eliminating everything south of that as a suspect of this interference, I'm left with a very disturbing phenomenon: At an upshift with no throttle between 1st and 2nd and between 2nd and 3rd there is, sometimes, not just a vibration but a jarring slam that can cause the whole car to shake for a sec. Wtf is that? Can it just be the tailshaft bushing, or am I going to be looking at an unexpected drivetrain upgrade or what?
