finally went to the track

back when I ran a best of 13.7 @102 in the 85.Well 2nite I ran a best of 14.3 @95. I lost .6 tenths of a sec and 7 mph with the same engine except it's fuel injected now.

here's the differences between the cars:

85:edelbrock performer 289 intake,holley 600,king cobra clutch,upr upper c/as,frpp lowers,373's in the rear,no p/s or a/c, taurus elec fan,weight w/driver 3160

91:efi stock intake,heads shaved .010,centerforce clutch 308's in the rear,p/s steering and a/c,mechanical fan weight w/driver3500

If I remember anything else I'll post it up
the 85 had the 6al box on it

mustangsneverdie 09-19-2009 12:34 AM

yea that's what I'm thinkin.about how much should I gain going to them(they'll most likely be in there by next fri. and I bought me a 3g so I'll be goin to upgrading that and then switching to my taurus fan.and also I'm goin to a junk yard tomorrow to see if I can pick up a gt 40 intake with all that I should be hitting 13's easily.one more thing should I be looking at upgrading my maf? is it worth it to do it

Not too bad at all. Thats what most people in here should be running with stock motors with a couple minor mods but everyone runs high 14's it seems. Keep it up!

with all that and a set of sticky tires you should be back into the 13's:)

yea I thought so.

now what all comes off of the solenoid that was on it with the old alt. I already have the 3g on it I just have to find out what comes off and stays on and the what I put on

IIRC there are two wires that run to the solenoid, pull those, they run behind the radiator. then run a 4 gauge wire to the solenoid, with a two 8 in fuseable links. i forget what size. i wanna say 12.

there was a guy down there last night that said his car usually 14.2's but the fastest he ran last night was a 14.7.I think the humidity was kinda high last night

this is to see what 302 army says: my track elevation is 242 ft. lol:icon_wink:

ok the alt. is on and running.Everything is working better the oil pressure even stays up now. when I turn the lights and a/c on its where it used to sit when nothing was on.Next is 373's:icon_teeth:

3 1/10th's were lost due to weight gain. Over 300lbs. Rule of thumb is 1/10th for every 100lbs.
