Default 73mm calipers and Hawk pad issues

I just got 73mm markvii calipers and hawk HPS pads to match for my 92' LX 5.0. The hawk pads have the same clips on all the pads. The original clips are differrent for the pad that snaps into the bore of the piston and the other side slides over the opposite side of the caliper. Since the hawk pads have the same clips that slide onto the caliper opposite the piston I'm not sure how the piston side pads are attached. Anyone else seen this? Should I have ordered the pads for a 92 LX?

I just went to Hawk's website and after looking at the drawings they list of the pads it seems that they packaged 4 outer pads instead of 2 inner and 2 outer. All of the pads I received are identical except 2 have "L" stamped and 2 have "R" stamped on them. Just my luck.
