Default Noob gear questions

I don't really understand how rear gears work. I know it makes the ds spin more making the wheels spin quicker. It adds no HP but makes the car quicker. So is it allowing more HP to get to the wheels than it did before? (ex: 2.73-3.73) And will it lower 1/4 times? I'm just confused i guess. Everyone say's more HP = faster, but this adds no hp but still = faster.

think of it as leverage

and if your stock geared check your door tag in the driver door

under "ax"

m=2.73
z=3.08
e=3.27

you really want 4.10's

a 2.73 to 4.10 swap is good for - 1 second ET in the 1/4... thats 10 car lengths, or about = to 100 hp

then if you should squirt 100 on it. you'll be happy, but will need cheater slicks to really take advantage

Looks like i have 2.73's like i thought. It's a dd though so I'm going with 3.73. And = to 100 hp?? Talk about bang for your buck. I can't wait to feel the difference =)
