Default F150 Swap

I want to swap my complete drivetrain into a mint '86 F150 2wd 5.0 AOD... the truck is clean clean like 50k original miles but the drivetrain is ****. its a non-ho with a slushbox aod. my car's rust is growing and really the time/experience required to fix it correctly isn't something i have. i could get this truck dirty cheap but would it be worth it?

my cars a manual and of course i wanna be slammin gears so how hard would it be to swap in the T-5? anyway to use the mechanical (5.0) clutch?

i already have alot of money invested into the mustang so its hard to justify the swap and not fixing the rust. its got all factory vin tags and original paint (never been hit)

the truck is a regular cab short bed with faded paint but no rust or rot. would need cleaning and rust proofing (i live in the salt belt)

i will probably buy the truck because it's so clean but i am undecided what to do with my car.
