short-throw shifter
#11
I had the billet hurst shifter in my car for about 3 months and i swaped it out for the pro 5.0. i will never use another shifter. its a little on the notchy side but i personaly like that (some people dont). I still have the hurst shifter and am looking to sale it if you are interested. But if you are not i would also suggest you just pay the money for a good shifter that will fit your style of driving.

If you didn't know where the thread was, how did you post in it?

Well it is the same section technically, just a sub-section of the tech. I have used the Pro5.0 in my brothers 92 and it was great. If you are looking just for a shorter throw you can take out the stock shift handle, cut a section out of the middle bend and reweld it back. I have done it to multiple shifters and its much better than stock in my opinion but an aftermarket is always better.

this is the same section just a sub forum and all the guys in the 5.0 section flip flop between gen disc and the 5.0 sec these are the two most popular sections on the 5.0 forum, you will not see less traffic either way...........I run two hurst shifters one in my 92 and one in my 85 = both work well, I also have a mgw on a tremec 3550 that'll go in my 85 soon = good shifter also

If you are doing mostly regular driving. A stock one will be better. Short throw shifters take away your leverage. It will feel notchier and require more effort to stop the synchro with an aftermarket shifter.
I run a B&M ripper just for the stops and they are more "accurate" but as for the short throw. I've modified my handle to be a couple inches longer.
