Talking My little project through the years

first day I brought her home at the tender age of 15
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...10054JPGal.jpg
had some ARE wheels, ported e7's and full exhaust and a t-5. Thing stunk like *** the previous owner had the fuel pressure set at 60lbs.

Drove it like that for a few weeks then fixed the fuel pressure problem.
Then I drove it through a hard Michigan winter to school everyday.

that spring I realized what I thought was lifter tick was more then that.
pulled the pan and removed a main bearing to find no materiel left on them and that they were down to the copper. Figured that may have been and oil pressure problem. Made a call to FRPP and got a gt40 crate motor long block with the B cam. A fulidyne radiator was also on my list of things.
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...2845_30422.jpg

Bought a trickflow intake and c&l maf. drove that around for a few weeks and got tired of getting beat up on by termi's

So I pieced together a vortech v-1 s-trim through ebay and coral. For a total of around 2000 i had a complete kit. bought 42lb injectors. Installed that on a weekend and took it to alt auto to get tuned http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...7/PB020270.jpg put down 376 rwhp and around 380tq. but something was wrong it just didnt feel as though with 9-10 psi it should be that low. Well we found oil in the intake tube and I talked to vortech they said that the housing was leaking so i sent it in and got a new housing. decided to put a smaller pulley on it at that point and took it to Don walsh motorsports he tuned it and I had 476rwhp and 468tq. I was happy with that for now.

went to the track and first pass the T-5 exploded. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...bcee44b3fa.jpg

Went back to Don walsh and got a tko600 zoom 2 clutch and a fidanza fly wheel
installed that over a weekend. Went back to the track for High school drags where i ran 12.0s all day. couldnt get it to 60ft better then a 2.00.
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...7f3cad946f.jpg

so over the winter I got some prostars, and eibach drag springs with 2 air bags and then strange 10ways. Took the 8.8 to DTS and had them put 9in big bearing ends on it with a tru trac and 31 spline axles and a wilwood disk brake kit on it. also got mega bite jr's on the bottom and replaced the bent upr uppers for the stock ones. I also welded in a upper and lower torque box reinforcement kit
went out in the spring and couldn't run better then a 11.98
I
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...7/P3130442.jpg

So I then drove all summer and in the fall I went looking for a automatic. Found a guy in ohio willing to swap me his dynamic mighty might m2 c4 with a 4000 stall converter and sfi bell housing. We made the trade. I came back put that in over the winter went and got the car retuned for the auto made 386hp and 374 tq. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...th97/trans.jpg
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...C7370_copy.jpg
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...uth97/jack.jpg
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...uth97/shif.jpg
First time out that spring ran a 11.09 foot braking at 121.78

Next move was to get the front end squared away.

So I headed down the road to Team Z motorsports and picked up a tubular k member with arms and coilovers, along with a bump steer kit and a manual rack from flaming river. I installed that with my dad over the course of a weekend. I took the power steering pump off and also removed the A/C compressor, evaporator and the condenser. The Next step was an electric fan to aid with the cooling which was much improved after the ac condenser was removed. So i bought a svt contour electric fan because that was the only one that would fit in between the crank pulley and my radiator that had a shoud on it. I made a call to flexalite and picked up a VSC and intalled that along with a custom aluminum over flow can from my sponsor. also located the battery to the rear
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...7/P5280501.jpg

Finally this fall I removed the rear whale tail and installed my skinny kid race cars drag spoiler. hooked up the trans brake and went 10.96 at 122.37
before:http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...57998a1d-1.jpg
in between:http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...th97/10sec.jpg
after:http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...th97/wing1.jpg
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...th97/wing2.jpg
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...th97/wing3.jpg
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...th97/wing4.jpg

What ill be doing this winter is a full mini tub with team z motorsports double adjustable upper and lower control arms a Team z anti roll bar, rear coil overs, and finally a wildrides race cars 10point cage.

heres 2 of my 10.90 passes

My buddy has a 275dr outlaw car that's his motor I'll be basing my build on it. Puts out round 1300 hp depending on the temps

haha i figured the lights came with it.

Ah come on, bigger turbo ftw!!

Thats what you need right there! 106mm turbo. Thats a local fox... he runs 8's right now, he drives it on the streets pretty regularly too. At the e85 shootout for 5.0 mustang magazine he ran a 10.00 @ 0 mph. He crossed the 1/4 with his rear tires first, his car flipped around and he hit the sensor so it didn't register a speed lol.

Very nice car though! gonna be cool to see what it does after college

Good stuff. Its funny how a little car can turn into a beast slowly over the years to a straight track car lol.
Why the drop in HP and TQ between tunes??

I wish I could get ahold of a turbo off one of our Bradleys. Its about the size of a 100mm. never did measure it.
